OUR OTHER ORGAN by NoLands. Summerhall. Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Boaz Barkan

Victim. Perpetrator. One body.
From Antisemitism to Zionism

With brutal honesty and dark humour, OUR OTHER ORGAN cuts into the living body to expose a hidden organ: the place where racism resides. Performer Boaz Barkan leads a gripping performance lecture that fuses physical theatre, anatomy, and politics into a visceral, intimate encounter.

Blurring victim and oppressor, the work traces how histories of European antisemitism live on within the body – shaping identity, trauma, and violence. Without casting blame, it reveals how ideas of superiority and inferiority are internalised, reproduced, and embodied.

Set on a stark, clinical stage, a living body becomes both subject and object in a grotesque yet compelling dissection. The result is unsettling, thought-provoking, and strangely humorous – a journey through flesh, history, and ideology.

Provocative and unflinching, OUR OTHER ORGAN challenges what we carry within us – and what we choose to see.

“An intense presence… both dominance and fascination with the Other.”
